- fifty-six
- Role
- Parish Clerk; Clerk to the Drainage Committee
- At the Council
- 2019
- Where to find her
- the Reading Room annexe, weekdays
Verity Plowman is the Council’s only paid officer. She keeps the minutes, manages the records, runs the Council office in the Reading Room annexe, and is also Clerk to the Drainage Committee. She has worked for four Councils and one Drainage Committee, and is the only person in town who fully understands the boundary between them.
On the minutes
Verity reads all of them. She has read every parish minute since 1947. There are five minutes missing. She knows which five. She has not, so far, been asked to say.
On the parish
She came to Morrowfen from Aingersby in 2019. She is fond of Owen Pell, who is the only person who reads the minutes in full. She is politely wary of Della Finch, who sends her questions in writing, and respectfully wary of Margaret Drury, who sends her questions in person.
The Council’s published minutes are at Town Hall.
